Make (or buy) 12 of your favorite doughnuts like these mango doughnuts or these cinnamon toast crunch doughnuts. Once the doughnuts have cooled completely, using a small paring knife to cut two slits into the top of each doughnut. Insert an almond into each slit, turning slightly to widen the cut.
Melt your white candy melts. Dip the wide end of your almonds into the melted candy and secure them in the slits you just cut. Dip the top of each doughnut into the white candy melts, making sure the almond ears on completely covered. Sprinkle the bottom half of each doughnut with sprinkles immediately.
Once the white candy melt coating has hardened, melt the black candy melts. Pour the melted candy melts into a piping bag and cut a very small hole in the end. Pipe the mouth, eyes, and whiskers. Use the leftover melted white candy melts to embellish the eyes. Once the candy coating has hardened, brush a little pink powdered food coloring on the cheek area.
